I promised a delicious twist - and here it is: My new macro lens was home-made for about $5 from a Pringles can, a pair of $1 magnifying lenses and tape, and attached to my Canon PowerShot A550 using a bit of clothes-hanger wire: ![]() Finally, here is a shot of the makeshift macro apparatus before being inserted into the tube: ![]() That first image of the lighter was actually taken this way, by manually aligning magnifying glasses. | |

Posted by:![]() bendo | You're the guy to ask, being learned in this field. Can you get Tapatio in Canadialand? It's not the hottest sauce in the world, but it might be the most delicious. It's also dirt cheap, and thus both what Mexicans use and what is available in most restaurants. If I can't buy it there I'll have to buy up a large supply so I can soften the blow of not having it any more. I know there are options for buying it online, but they mostly look kind of dodgey, and my cc was recently stolen, so I'm a little gunshy. Also, I feel marginally more stupid buying hotsauce online than I do driving it across the continent. That may be wrong. -bendo |
